What's next after Juba? The next planned stop is Kampala

After pilot validation in Juba, GenerationEd is preparing a working visit to Kampala for September 2026 to introduce Remote Talent Hub and explore study and project opportunities.

What's next after Juba? The next planned stop is Kampala

Remote Talent Hub's first steps in Juba showed that a personal presentation, a university connection and a small pilot group can turn a vision into a real process. Another planned country is Uganda. GenerationEd is preparing a working visit to Kampala for September 2026 in cooperation with Slovak-African Business and Investment Council (SABIC).

The next planned step after Juba is a working visit to Kampala to introduce Remote Talent Hub to universities and relevant education officials. In working discussions, H.E. Amb. Stephen Mubiru expressed strong interest in the project and in supporting suitable Ugandan students as they explore study opportunities at Slovak universities and Remote Talent Hub assessment.

Why Uganda is the logical next step

Juba provided the first environment for model validation. Uganda can bring another type of experience: a larger university ecosystem, a wider network of relevant institutions and space to connect the two directions Remote Talent Hub.

Identification, testing and development of talents who can gradually prepare for remote AI and IT projects.

Informing suitable students about study opportunities in Slovakia, scholarship programs and admission conditions.

Both paths can complement each other. The student can develop technical skills at a distance and at the same time navigate in the possibilities of higher education in Slovakia. However, GenerationEd does not decide on university admissions, scholarships or visas.

The role of H.E. Amb. Stephen Mubiru

H.E. Amb. Stephen Mubiru is Uganda's ambassador to Berlin. His mission is also non-resident accredited for Slovakia.

According to working discussions, the Remote Talent Hub project strongly interested him. He expressed interest in supporting the identification of suitable Ugandan students and connecting two pathways:

  • apply to study at Slovak universities if the conditions are met,
  • engage in identification, testing and development through Remote Talent Hub.

This interest does not mean that the embassy guarantees admission, scholarship, visa or project involvement. Nor is it a formal endorsement of Remote Talent Hub by the Ugandan government.

What does "sending students to Slovakia" mean in practice

In a diplomatic and educational context, this is not an automatic broadcast or an assigned quota. It is about creating a better information and preparation path for students who meet the conditions.

Step What GenerationEd can support Who decides
Talent identification Technical testing, practical tasks and development profile GenerationEd within your process
Study program selection Orientation in relevant fields and resources A student
University application Explanation of process and conditions Relevant university
Scholarship application Information about the publicly available program and preparation Scholarship provider
Visa process Basic orientation and links to official sources Competent state authorities
Project involvement Testing, mentoring and matching to the appropriate assignment It depends on the results, the availability of the project and the agreement of the parties

Current information about the Slovak program for talented foreign students is available on the official portal Scholarships for Talented Students.

What is being prepared for September 2026

GenerationEd is preparing a working visit to Kampala in cooperation with Slovak-African Business and Investment Council (SABIC). The exact date and final program have not yet been publicly confirmed.

Planned thematic areas include:

  • meetings with universities and relevant representatives in the field of education,
  • introduction of the Remote Talent Hub model,
  • discussion on the identification and testing of AI and IT talents,
  • a discussion about study opportunities in Slovakia,
  • setting up a small first pilot group,
  • finding a local contact point for further work communication.

The next country in the pipeline is a country where working meetings are being prepared and the possibility of a pilot is being verified. It does not mean that the country, government or universities have already entered the project.

What is to be transferred from Juba to Kampala

Start with personal communication

The project must be explained in the local context and openly named what it does and does not guarantee.

Find a specific university unit

The pilot needs a school or faculty with relevant students and a responsible contact person.

Start with a small group

The first testing is to validate the process, not create big public numbers.

Separate studies from projects

School admission, scholarship and Remote Talent Hub are different processes with different decision-making authorities.

Document the results

Each metric must differentiate interested, tested candidates, talent with potential and project-ready people.

What a positive impact Kampala can have

Target group Possible benefit
Ugandan students Access to information, testing, mentoring, study opportunities and international projects
Ugandan universities Practical feedback on students' abilities and new links to Slovakia
Slovak universities Access to talented foreign applicants who prepared more systematically
Slovak companies Future opportunity to work with pre-tested talent and international teams
GenerationEd members in Slovakia Leadership experience in coordinating and leading international project cells

What the visit doesn't mean yet

  • Uganda is not yet an active Remote Talent Hub pilot,
  • the Ugandan government did not approve the project,
  • the Ministry of Education of Uganda is not a confirmed partner,
  • Ugandan universities have not yet joined the program,
  • the exact date and program of the visit are not publicly confirmed,
  • no student is guaranteed admission, scholarship, visa or job.
